Statement
This accessibility statement applies to online forms provided by Victoria Solutions Limited (trading as Victoria Forms) which are created using our range of form building and conversion software.
We want everybody to be able to use our online forms. For example, that means you should be able to do the following:
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate through forms using just a keyboard
- navigate using speech recognition software
- listen to the online form(s) using a screen reader
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
Compliance status
Our online forms are capable of being fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
For forms designed in-house, we aim for full compliance throughout our forms.
For forms created by our clients (using our VF Creator software or our design service), forms may not be fully compliant if certain features are used.
Known issues
There are features that can be enabled in our forms which are not fully accessible, and there are known issues with specific browsers / assistive technologies.
The following form features are known to have accessibility issues:
- Signature fields require the signature to be drawn with a touchscreen device or mouse. As an alternative, our clients can use an Advanced Signature field type which allows the user to type their name instead.
- Combobox fields have an optional dropdown which appears below the text field (e.g. for Title fields). This optional dropdown cannot be accessed by all assistive technologies, but the text field can still be completed by free typing.
- Date fields have a pop-up calendar which only appears when the user clicks into the field. This does not appear when navigating using only the keyboard. The field can still be completed by free typing using the format that is described.
- Static pages are form pages which display just like a printed form. The fields in these form are not always labeled thoroughly, and text between fields may not be accessible to screen readers. If a form is encountered with these static pages, please request an alternative format.
The following are known issues with specific browsers/assistive technologies:
- In Microsoft Edge, using the Read aloud feature does not always read the main content of the form if you are stepping through using the arrow keys. This is caused by the fact that our forms present the main form page within an HTML
iframe
element. There are some workarounds for this Edge bug:- Users with a mouse can click within the form page then continue to read the form with arrow keys.
- Keyboard users may be able to tab through the buttons/fields of the form until they reach the form page; The form content then should be read out.
- In the Dolphin ScreenReader, the main content of the form is not always read out when stepping through the form. This is caused by the fact that our forms present the main form page within an HTML
iframe
element. The main workaround to this is to change browser as the issue was not present when using Firefox.
Alternative formats
If you need the forms in a different format, in the first instance please contact the company who asked you to fill the form in as they may be able to provide this. Alternatively you can email our Support Desk at support@victoriaforms.com.
Reporting problems
We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our online forms. If you find any problems or think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, contact: support@victoriaforms.com.
